Tariq created his first online server in 1984 at age 12 and was part of the early hacker scene. As a journalist, he covered the birth of cyberculture both in Europe and Silicon Valley. As a tech entrepreneur,  has been active in building alternative platforms. He is the founder of Generation MP3, Netvibes, Jolicloud and more recently Dissident.ai
